New “Splatoon 2” Ranked Mode, Clam Blitz, to be Added Tonight

Splatoon 2 will be introducing a new ranked battle mode this evening (December 12) called Clam Blitz!

In Clam Blitz, clams are scattered all over the stage. Players must collect and throw the clams into the enemy team’s basket. The first team to reach 100 points is the winner! However, each basket is surrounded by a protective barrier that can only be broken by a Power Clam, a giant football-shaped clam that is automatically created after collecting and holding onto 10 regular clams. The barrier will begin to restore itself immediately after breaking, but the timer can be delayed by tossing clams into the basket.

Clam Blitz will join the regular ranked battle rotation along with Tower Control, Splat Zones, and Rainmaker tonight.

You can find a video introduction and more information after the break!
