Nintendo scheduled a very short Pokemon Direct earlier this morning. Announcements were made regarding Pokken Tournament DX (pronounced “Deluxe”), Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon, and Pokemon Gold Version and Pokemon Silver Version.
Pokken Tournament DX will be launching on the Nintendo Switch on September 22, 2017. This Nintendo Switch version will include the original 16 playable Pokemon from the WiiU version, as well as Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, Croagunk, and Decidueye. Pokken Tournament DX will feature 3v3 team battles, online ranked matches, and friend-only group matches.
“Pokken Tournament DX takes full advantage of the variety of gameplay modes made possible by Nintendo Switch. You can, of course, connect your console to a TV to enjoy dynamic Pokemon battles on a larger screen or, if you want, you can play in tabletop mode. Share one of your joy-con with another player and dive into a match anytime anywhere.”
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon will be having a simultaneous global release to 3DS systems on November 17, 2017. The games will feature an alternate story that takes place in the world of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, as well as Pokemon that did not appear in the original versions.
The Direct’s final announcement was the release of Pokemon Gold Ver. and Pokemon Silver Ver. to the 3DS virtual console service. These games will be compatible with the Pokemon Bank and will officially launch on September 22, 2017.
In case you missed it, you can check out the full direct after the break!
(The Pokemon Direct starts at the 30:18 mark)
