Countdown Illustration for “NieR:Automata” Revealed

There are only a few more days until NieR:Automata, the highly anticipated action RPG, releases in Japan on February 23. In preparation for that day, a countdown illustration was uploaded to the game’s official Twitter account.

For those unfamiliar, Square Enix describes the game below:

“Invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing their secret weapon: the machines. In the face of this insurmountable threat, the human race is driven from the earth and takes refuge on the moon. The humans develop an army of android soldiers to fight back against the mechanical horde, but succeed only in slowing its advance. To break the deadlock, a new breed of android infantry is sent into the fray: the YoRHa squad.
In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world…

NieR: Automata is a new third-person action RPG follow-up to the 2010 cult hit, NieR. Offering a fresh blend of action and RPG gameplay styles, NieR: Automata is currently being developed in collaboration with PlatinumGames, the studio known for its groundbreaking advancements in the action genre.”

The game will be released on March 7 in North America and should be available worldwide by March 10. Preorders are still being accepted for both the PC and PS4 editions at the price of $59.99. The $189.99 PS4 Black Box edition is currently sold out with a waiting list.

Preorders Open for Tracer Nendoroid

Good Smile Company has just opened preorders for their new Tracer Nendoroid (Overwatch)!

This Nendoroid is approximately 100mm tall (about 3.9 inches) and is priced at 4,900 yen (roughly $42.86) including tax. She can be preordered through the Good Smile Company Online Shop until March 16, and the Blizzard store for $49.99. She should be available to order through other sites shortly.

The company has added a new subsection on their site for Overwatch x Good Smile Company products, so expect more characters to get some cool stuff in the future. Tracer will be officially released and shipped out in August 2017.

“Splatoon 2” to Feature LAN Play and Private Battle Spectating

Nintendo has revealed two new features that will be available in the upcoming Splatoon sequel: Private Battle Spectator View and LAN Play.

Private Battle Spectator View can allow two extra non-players to spectate Private Battles and act as camera operators to see the match from different angles. The LAN Play feature allows 8 players to connect their systems using a wired LAN setup to create local Private Battle tournaments without the use of an internet connection.

Sounds like these two features would be really useful if anyone wanted to setup some competitive on-stage tournaments. Splatoon 2 comes to the Nintendo Switch this summer.

New PV for “Madoka☆Magica” Smartphone Game

A new 1:30 promotional video has been released for the upcoming Madoka☆Magica RPG smartphone game, Magia Record Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden!

The video previews a new group of magical girls along with in-game animations, battling gameplay, transformation scenes, dialogue, and the game’s theme song, “Kakawari”, by TrySail. The song was previously played in a short 15 second commercial back in late September. The mobile RPG follows the main character, Iroha Tamaki, on her mission to find her younger sister, Ui. Along the way, she runs into Madoka on a similar search for her friend Homura.

The official Twitter account recently announced they are holding a campaign during their pre-registration period where the player can receive a free Homura Akemi (glasses version) that can be used in the game.

“Fate/Grand Order” VR Game Announced with PV

TYPE-MOON and the Fate/Grand Order Project are collaborating on a Fate/Grand Order Virtual Reality game featuring Mashu Kyrielight (Shielder)! A website for the upcoming project has also been launched.

The game is expected to be released to the Playstation 4 sometime in 2017.

Launch Trailer for “New Danganronpa V3” Released

The launch trailer for the New Danganronpa V3 game was released earlier today. The trailer shows off a few clips from the trials along with some of the new features this game will have, including the mini-games and the Panic Debate mode. This is the third main title in the series of games, and the fourth game overall if you exclude the mobile game.

The game will be released to the PS4 and PS Vita on January 12 in Japan. It will be published in North America and Europe through NIS America under the name Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony sometime in 2017.

2nd PV Released for “New Danganronpa V3”

Spike Chunsoft has uploaded another promotional video for New Danganronpa V3 to their Youtube channel! The 4-minute video shows off the game mechanics for both the class trials and free roaming mode. The mock class trial in the video gives us a brief look at each of the new characters, as well as their personalities and voices.

Dance PV Released for “Love Live! School Idol Festival ~After School Activity~”

Love Live! School Idol Festival ~After School Activity~, an upcoming rhythm arcade game from Square Enix and Bushiroad, has received a new promotional video! The video shows off some of the dance moves μ’s performs during their live shows in the game. The dances for “Snow Halation”, “Wonderful Rush”, “Mermaid Festa Vol. 2 ~Passionate~”, “Soldier Game”, and more are previewed. A different promotional video was released in early November that revealed some of the member cards.

The arcade game will officially be playable in Japan starting December 6, 2016.

Trailer Released for “Street Fighter V” Holiday DLC

Street Fighter V has released a promotional video for their holiday content this year! The video previews all of the cool and cute, but not necessarily warm, holiday costumes the characters of the game can wear from the DLC.

“The tree has been decorated, presents are wrapped, and stockings are stuffed. Six new Premium Holiday costumes and a special Holiday-themed version of the New York stage are coming for Street Fighter V! Alongside the freshly fallen snow, Alex’s hometown is now decorated for the holidays with festive lights, ornaments only his mighty shoulders could lift, and presents scattered throughout.”

You can purchase all of this content in the Holiday Pack, which contains all of the Holiday DLC, for a discounted price of $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99. Each individual holiday costume is priced at $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29 and includes colors 1-10. The holiday stage is priced at $1.99 / €1.99 / £1.29 or 40K Fight Money.

The release date will be announced sometime during PSX.
