2nd PV Released for “Fullmetal Alchemist” Live Action Film

A second promotional video has been uploaded for the Fullmetal Alchemist live action film adaptation! Edward and Alphonse Elric’s characters, both young and older, are previewed in the short trailer. The film’s plot will be based on the storyline from the manga series by Hiromu Arakawa.

For those unfamiliar with the story, the synopsis can be found below:

“Alchemists are knowledgeable and naturally talented individuals who can manipulate and modify matter due to their art. Yet despite the wide range of possibilities, alchemy is not as all-powerful as most would believe. Human transmutation is strictly forbidden, and whoever attempts it risks severe consequences. Even so, siblings Edward and Alphonse Elric decide to ignore this great taboo and bring their mother back to life. Unfortunately, not only do they fail in resurrecting her, they also pay an extremely high price for their arrogance: Edward loses his left leg and Alphonse his entire body. Furthermore, Edward also gives up his right arm in order to seal his brother’s soul into a suit of armor.

Years later, the young alchemists travel across the country looking for the Philosopher’s Stone, in the hopes of recovering their old bodies with its power. However, their quest for the fated stone also leads them to unravel far darker secrets than they could ever imagine.”

The film will open in theaters on December 1.

New PV for “Sakurada Reset” Live Action Film

The second promotional video for the Sakurada Reset live action film adaptation was uploaded earlier this month. The trailer shows off some of the cast, acting, and music to expect in this upcoming film. Sakurada Reset began as a light novel series in 2009 and will be receiving an anime adaptation this coming April.

MyAnimeList describes the synopsis below:

“Nearly half the population of Sakurada, a small town near the Pacific Ocean, has some sort of unique power. These powers range from being able to enter the mind of a cat, to resetting the world back to a certain point in time in the past. There is a group known as the “Kanrikyoku” that controls and monitors the use of these powers. Asai Kei and Haruki Misora work for their school’s club called “Houshi” club, which execute any missions received from the Kanrikyoku. Misora has the ability to reset the world 3 days. This means that all events and any memory of the past 3 days that “could have” happened, never happened. Kei has the ability to “remember” the past. Even after Misora uses her powers to reset the world back 3 days, Kei will retain those 3 days in his memory. Combining their powers, these two solve missions issued by the Kanrikyoku.”

The movie will open in theaters on March 25.

New 30-Second CM for “March Comes in Like a Lion” Live Action Film

A 30-second commercial has been uploaded for the March Comes in Like a Lion (3-gatsu no Lion) live action film adaptation! The film will be released in two parts, with the first part opening in theaters on March 18 and the second part on April 22. The series began as a manga that was first published in July 2007 by Umino Chika before being turned into a television anime adaptation in October 2016.

MyAnimeList describes the story below:

“Rei Kiriyama is a 17-year-old boy who recently started living alone, financed by his salary as a professional Shogi player. Despite his independence, however, he’s yet to mature emotionally, and his problems continue to haunt him in his daily life. His relationship with his adoptive family is strained, and he has difficulties interacting with his fellow high school students. Meanwhile, his professional career has entered a slump. Burdened with the heavy expectations placed on him as the fifth to become pro in middle school, his wins and losses are fluctuating as his record and progression into the ranks begin to stagnate.

Acquainted with Rei are the three Kawamoto sisters: Akari, Hinata, and Momo. Unlike Rei, they live happily in their modest home, which they warmly welcome Rei into as if he were one of their own. Despite his reservations about becoming too close to the family, he frequently visits, interacting with them and receiving the kind of care and affection he never quite had while under his foster home.

This is the story of Rei’s triumphs and failures, relationships new and old, and his growth as a person.”
