The Centaur no Nayami (also called A Centaur’s Life and Centaur’s Worries) anime adaptation has received a new key visual and character designs for the three main characters! Some super cute illustrations drawn by the anime staff members have also been uploaded to the official anime website. Fumitoshi Oizaki, the chief director, Naoyuki Konno, the director, and Hide Shibuya, the character designer and chief animation director, have each drawn one!
The series began as a manga and was first published in February 2011. It is currently ongoing and is also being published in English through Seven Seas Entertainment.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the plot below:
“Being a teenager is never easy… especially for a centaur! Himeno is a sweet, shy girl, who like many teens her age, struggles with the trials and tribulations of attending high school. The difference is she’s a centaur; but she’s not alone. In fact, all of her classmates are supernatural creatures, sporting either horns, wings, tails, halos, or some other unearthly body appendage. Yet despite their fantastical natures, Himeno and her best friends-the dragon-winged Nozomi, and Kyoko with her spiraled horns-are down-to-earth, fun-loving teenagers who grapple with issues of life and love in a mostly normal daily school setting.”
Centaur no Nayami will begin airing in July 2017.

For those unfamiliar with the series, the synopsis is listed below:
“Living by the sea, protecting the sea, and journeying across the sea… They’re the Blue Mermaids!
Because of a shift in tectonic plates around 100 years ago, Japan lost much of its area to submergence. To preserve Japan’s territories, coastal cities sprung up, one after the other. Eventually, they became marine cities, and along with the expansion of sea-lanes to connect them, the need arose for a sizable staff to protect the seas.
At the same time, maritime jobs were becoming more popular among women. Hence, the Blue Mermaids, tasked with keeping the seas safe, had become every female student’s dream job. This is when childhood friends Akeno Misaki and Moeka China enroll in a marine high school in Yokosuka, along with other girls who share their goal of becoming a Blue Mermaid.”
